WarmCards and CoolCards make it simple and easy for the cameraman to get a warmer white balance or a cooler look, and then to keep the white balance consistent throughout the shoot with precision. WarmCards and CoolCards work with all cameras, all lenses, and are as easy to use as an ordinary white card. We offer the WarmCards Max system. This includes 7 different grades of warm and cooling cards, allowing you will have exacting control over the color balance of your camera. For experienced cameramen, a "true" white balance is rarely acceptable these days. Professional cameramen spend a lot of time and effort creating beautiful lighting, selecting filters, and implementing other effects to get the "look" they want -- but most of them forget about the easiest tool of all -- manipulating the electronic white balance of their camera. This is where the WarmCards and CoolCards come in. By tricking the camera's white balance into producing better colors, it is possible to get the "warm look" that audiences prefer or a "cooler look" for creating a cold feel to the scene without the need for filters or special lighting. Until now with WarmCards and CoolCards, cheating the white balance has been difficult to control and risky. "Warm Cards - the industry standard white balancing system"
Individual cameramen have long used their own
crude hit-or-miss warming methods, but these techniques had unpredictable
results that couldn't be repeated or easily matched with other shots. This isn't too hard if only a normal, ordinary white balance is deemed to be acceptable, but if the cameraman, producer, or director of photography wants a nice "warm look", it can be tough to maintain a consistent level of warming as lighting conditions change. A typical shoot may have multiple setups, in several locations, both inside and outside, and even on different days. Haphazard warming techniques just don't work. The WarmCard Max System Warm ˝ Card: Minus Green Card: Often you'll need to shoot at locations that have a lot of fluorescent lighting, but the big problem with fluorescent lighting is that it usually has a green cast - distorting colors and making people look sick. This is common at places such as car dealerships, factories, airports, schools, retail stores, office buildings, supermarkets and hospitals. When shooting b-roll or documentaries -- you encounter it constantly, and turning off the fluorescents and providing your own lighting is usually not an option in such locations. However, footage shot in these locations can be greatly improved if you take into consideration the existing lighting and adjust your white balance accordingly. Many shooters work under the mistaken assumption that a "normal" white balance compensates for the greenish tint of these lights -- but it does not. The new "Minus Green" card provides the perfect solution for obtaining pleasing skin tones and a more correct color balance while shooting under fluorescents. It's the fast and easy way to give your camera better color rendition in uncontrollable fluorescent lighting situations. The right white balance can mean the difference between a good shot and a great shot. The WarmCard MAX System, includes the
CoolCards Film makers has been asking us for the CoolCards for sometime now. In the movies, you will often see a scene or several scenes, that has a cool or icy blue look to it. The Cool Cards allow you to consistently obtain this look from scene to scene. Once you've seen the difference WarmCards
and CoolCards can make, you'll probably never use an ordinary white balance ever
again.
