Smoothcam Camera Stabilizer - Studio 1 Productions

SmoothCam™ 200

The Professional Camera Stabilization System

SmoothCam 200 -- $219.95
Item # SM200

Quantity

With the new SmoothCam™ Camera Stabilizer you can create smooth, gliding shots when you are walking or moving around, eliminating the camera shake, like you see in most Hollywood and independent movies.  These fluid camera moves will help your videos take on a more professional look, instead of shaky homemade look.  It's ideal for all types of video productions.  Whether you shoot wedding, events, documentaries, films, music videos, property tours, etc., the SmoothCam™ Camera Stabilizer allows you to get right in the middle of the action, so you are no longer stuck shooting from a static position.

The SmoothCam™ Camera Stabilizer has been designed by a professional cameraman with years of experience working with different camera stabilization systems.  The idea behind the SmoothCam is to incorporate design, balancing features and physics, to provide you with an affordable tool to give you fluid motion and the edge when shooting your videos.

The SmoothCam™ Camera Stabilizer will handle video cameras up to 6 pounds.   It is designed to work with today's smaller digital video cameras like the Panasonic DVX100, Sony VX-2000, VX-2100, HDV HDR-FX1, Canon GL-2 & XL1, and other cameras of this size or smaller.  (Please note this is not for full size cameras.  Larger full size cameras will require much bigger rigs in order to stabilize properly).

Setup and balance it easy and  takes only a few minutes.  The SmoothCam Camera Stabilizer is made with high quality machining and is constructed from solid aircraft aluminum to give you years of service.

Easy to adjust base and counterweights for complete camera balancing.

Customer Comments:
"I just finished principle photography on an independent film called 'The Winner's Circle'.  During photography we needed a camera stabilizer and one of the crew members suggested the Smoothcam to be used with our DVX-100a.  We tried it out and loved it.  The footage we obtained with it is great!.  I have worked we other camera stabilizers in the past and they are a pain to get balanced.  But the Smoothcam, took less than 2 minutes to balance out.  Smart way of doing it, very smart.  Excellent product that does exactly as advertised."  Max Steinberg, Phoenix, AZ

"After carefully looking around I decided to try the Smoothcam.  After a little practice, I found myself creating some really cool shots.  It's really easy to use and the setup took only a few minutes.  I really like the design and ease of use.  I have worked with a friend's steady cam type product and found it difficult to setup up and use.  Like you say on the web page, I can now take my videos to a whole new level."  Steven Franz, Winter Park, FL

"I was looking for an easy to use camera stabilizer.  I looked into several models that are on the market, tried a few out, including yours.  I wasn't shopping on price, but on ease of use and the quality of the shots I was able to obtain.  After testing them, I kept your Smoothcam.  It really was the easiest one to setup and use.  It gave me the same results and sometimes better than the other models I tried.  I tested it with a PD-170, DVX-100A and a XL-1s.  Setup and balancing only took a minute, not hours like it took with some models.  I can see I will be using the Smoothcam in a lot of my productions."  Jack Waters, Hollywood, Ca.

"I wanted to pass on a few comments to you about the Smoothcam.  While the pictures don't do it justice, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the materials it's made from and to see how well it is assembled.  Balancing was very simple.  I mounted my PD-150 on it and after a few minutes of getting use to it, I shot some test footage.  It looked great.  I found that by adjusting the base plate with the weights I could have the Smoothcam work on a 30 degree angle so the camera is looking down.  I creating some very cool "walking shoes" shots that came out very good.  I also made a set of legs that could be attached to the base plate so I could set the Smoothcam down and it would stand there.  I wondered why you guys didn't do that yourself.  However, I quickly found out why.  With the legs on I kept hitting them as I walked with my own legs.  So it's best to leave them off.  This is the easiest camera stabilizer  I've ever used.  I think I will try your Jib Arm next."  Peter Nguyen, Rockville, MD

Camcorder Not Included.  Smoothcam is shipped in a separate box from any other item you are ordering.

Smoothcam Camera Stabilizer

"Just used your Smoothcam at a wedding reception and walked away with some really great shots moving through the dance floor and the reception hall.  This is truly a great piece of gear.  It takes no time at all to setup and learn how to use.  This is a definite 'Must Have' piece of gear."  Robert Conners, Chicago, Il.

"After buying your Super Jib Arm, I had to try the Smoothcam.  All I can say is Awesome!  I am using both items with the VX-2000 and they both work great.  We've been working on a low budget film and several other filmmakers we know saw the Super Jib and Smoothcam in action and they were amazed with the quality, functionality and price.  These are a worth while investment for any videographer.  I see you solved our audio problem with you new XLR-BP.  Great idea. Your will find enclosed a check for the XLR-BP.  That really is a great idea by having the controls and the heavy cables attach to your belt instead of the camera.  Thanks again."  Frank Perez and Bill Phillips, Miami, FL

"Great product, you Smoothcam performs great.  It's great to be able to get a steady, gliding shot like you see in the movies.  As a indie filmmaker, I don't have a lot of money to get a full size Steady cam (Steadicam) and the Smoothcam fits the bill perfectly.  I am able to get fluid movements with my DVX-100a.  Thank you for producing affordable video equipment."  Don Wright, Wilmington, DE
