The Pro-Fifty WJ-MX50 outperforms switchers
at FIVE TIMES the cost !

Now Available:  Used MX-50 Mixers - Call RealTime Video Engineering at (760)-945-3321

FULL NTSC BANDWIDTH

The Pro-Fifty Pro-Use Upgrade revises the MX-50’s factory 350-line ( 4.5 MHz) resolution to 500 lines (6.3 Mhz), resulting in a noticeably sharper image.  Your MX50 is now a viable special effects generator for use with digital video formats such as Mini-DV, DVCAM and DVCPRO.

FULL FCC BROADCAST COMPLIANCE

The Pro Fifty refines the MX-50’s circuitry to meet all FCC requirements for direct-to-air use.  New "Black Clipper" circuitry provides clean, consistent 7.5IRE black under all conditions, while the new Crystallocked subcarrier generator greatly improves color rendition.

HIGH-PERFORMANCE TUNING

Your entire MX-50 digital video mixer is meticulously fine-tuned for optimum performance, resulting in a visually transparent signal path.

All routine maintenance is performed and detail of final specifications is provided. No stone is unturned !

ZERO-LOSS DUAL PROC AMP CONTROLS

New Contrast, Black Level Level, Color Intensity and Hue controls for each bus. Easy-to-use independent controls allow you to compensate for poor lighting conditions, properly correct skin tones, solve white balance problems, fine-tune chroma keys, reduce generation loss, and precisely match your sources... without the signal degradation of add-on processors.

THE BEST WARRANTY IN THE INDUSTRY !

The Pro-Fifty Upgrade is built to the highest standards of workmanship and is covered by a full 5 year warranty on both parts and labor.

Upgrade is Available Only From

"Rated as Stated"

"Our tests of the Pro-Fifty verified all claims of improvement. The Upgrade met or exceeded all rated specifications for extended bandwidth, IRE levels, and other calibration standards. The DVC Color correction worked flawlessly..."

"Before you run out and spend thousands of dollars on a new high-end digital mixer, it would definitely be worth looking into the Pro-Fifty modification for your WJ-MX50."
Steven Bolander, Senior Technical Editor, WEVA International magazine

"From one single business owner to another, I really appreciated your honest and no bull description of your modification…The quality and advertised results are exactly as you said they would be and then some." Cliff Nichols, Video Dimensions, Tega Cay, SC

"…Much improved signal-to-noise and higher resolution. Very transparent signal pass-through!" "The audio mod along with the removal of terminators has greatly improved my live switch shows!" "Thanks so much for your personal attention to detail and for the additional customized mods you did for me."
Tom Jensen, Jensen Video, San Diego, CA

"…Broadcast standard restored. Purer blacks. Individual control of Proc Amps for A&B buses."  "Every now and then you come across a company which not only meets accepted standards, but exceeds them. I liked being treated as an important client instead of a number or $. Follow-up was professional & friendly. Bob Rall is a class act."
John Williams, Studios at SWAU, Keene, TX

"I liked the impeccable quality of craftsmanship in all aspects of the work performed. The additional knobs and labels look like a factory retrofit. It's nice to know in this age of advertising misinformation, that Bob did everything to the mixer that he promised, lined up all the electronic specs to perfection and continues to service the industry with helpful tips and creative methods of imitating more expensive systems."

"Having the (proc amp controls) tie in to the internal circuitry has removed a source of signal degradation from my edit system while keeping extra wires & black boxes from cluttering my edit bay."
Eric Ortlieb, Steadytracker Corporation, Aliso Viejo, CA

Having RealTime Video Engineering upgrade your MX-50:

1. Call Bob Rall at (760)945-3321 to schedule an appointment (Do Not Call Studio 1) if you desire expedited handling.  A anticipated return date will be given, based upon the delivery date.  Generally we need two full days bench time for an MX-50, so allow for 3 three days at our end.  We’re very flexible and will do our best to work around your busy schedule.  Please call if for some reason you are unable to keep your appointment.

2. Before you pull the Panasonic WJ-MX50 from your system, you might want to label your cables and connections to make it easy to install your "new" MX-50.

3. Package the MX-50 for shipment. Shipping the unit in the original packing is easiest and most cost effective for air shipments.  Be sure to place the unit in the factory-supplied plastic bag.  If you do not have the original packing, first place the mixer in a plastic trash can liner, then wrap it with at least two inches of bubble wrap.  Place the bubble-wrapped unit in a suitable box (the original is 20" x 23" x 10") and fill the rest of the box tightly with foam "peanuts" or other lightweight packing material.  Avoid "oversize" packaging for shipments via air services.  Most carriers charge a "dimensional weight" based upon box size.  Actual weight of the MX-50 in the original packing is 20 lbs.  Dimensional weight in the original packing is 24lbs (FedEx) and 25 lbs (UPS).  Larger boxes can cost much more to ship.  If you wish to save some money by shipping via ground services, you can use a much larger box.  Keep in mind, though, that as the size approaches 8 cu ft, shipping jumps to a flat 70lbs basis.

A packing and shipping service (such as Mailboxes, Etc.) can do this job for you.  Most charge about 15-20% markup on the shipping plus about $5 for the box.  If shipping by air services, have them trim the box to a size close to the original to minimize dimensional weight charges.  Some customers have the unit packaged by a shipping service then ship it themselves rather than paying the shipping service markup.  Unlike your tape decks, the MX-50’s internals are not especially fragile.  Any reasonable packaging which will just more than protect the external cosmetics of the unit will allow it to be shipped safely.  (When packaging the MX-50, however, avoid setting it upside down on other than a padded surface, as the fragile Color Correction CHROMA and Matte Generator LEVEL controls are vulnerable to breakage.  In general, be careful with these or any of the other similar potentiometers on the MX-50’s top panel.)

We’ve been modifying mixers since 1992 and have never had a problem in shipping with any reasonably packaged unit.  Still, you may want to insure your mixer.  Insurance generally runs about $.50 per $100 value.  We will be responsible for your mixer from the time we sign for it until it is returned to your address.  An adult signature will be required.

3. Enclose payment by cashiers check, money order or company check payable to "RealTime Video Engineering".  Payment may accompany the unit or be received under separate cover prior to its return unless other prior arrangements have been made.

4. Be sure to include your return shipping address and phone number.  Jot a quick note if anything is working other than it was when the mixer was new, or if there is anything else which we should be aware of.

5. Ship your MX-50 to us using a copy of the shipping label on the back of this sheet.  RealTime Video Engineering will pay for return shipping.

6. Please feel free to call Bob Rall at (760)945-3321, 7 days a week (8-8 PST) if you wish to check the status of your mixer. I’ll call you if I have any questions.

7. In just a few days you’ll be enjoying a precision tuned instrument which will make a MAJOR improvement in the quality of your finished productions !
