Video Mixer Effect Article

Compression Looping
http://www.studio1productions.com

This effect can be accomplished with most digital video mixers, such as the Panasonic AVE-5, AVE-7, AVE-55, MX-1, MX-20, MX-30 and MX-50. Compression Looping is an infinite picture-in-picture (PIP) effect.

To achieved this effect, take one of the main video outputs (Record/Program Out) from the digital mixer and connecting it to one of the digital mixer source inputs. You can use either Y/C or composite connections.

Feed your primary video source into one of your other video inputs. Then engage the mixer’s PIP mode (Note: with the MX-50, create a compressed box wipe). You will then see multiple PIPs going back into infinity. Move your joystick around to create moving trail.

Use your T-Bar, or buss mix fader, to control the intensity of this effect. Also, adjust the selected size of the PIP to determine the depth of the effect.

Learn more about the Panasonic MX-50, MX-30 and AVE-7. Check out our instructional videos in our Online Catalog.
